Currently, the School of Foreign Languages of Hubei University has set up academic cooperation with Niigata University, Waseda University, Nagasaki University, University of Toulouse II - Le Mirail and other universities. We offer various opportunities for our students to complete a semester or a year of study at our partner institutions overseas. Every year about 10 French majors and 12–15 Japanese majors are sent to our exchange partner universities for intercollegiate exchange programs or study abroad with their course credits mutually accredited. There are also overseas summer school programmes including academic sessions and cultural excursions which provide our students a snapshot of life overseas. Last summer of 2017, 27 students majoring in Portuguese were accompanied by their guidance counselor to the University of Macau to attend a summer programme.

At the end of June 2017, Zhang Qingzong, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and the director of Portuguese Department paid a visit to the Macau Polytechnic Institute. The two sides discussed cooperation in a sincere, friendly and practical atmosphere around the theme of “Portuguese teaching and the training of Portuguese talents” and reached a preliminary cooperation intention in terms of student exchanges.
