HUBU Interpreting Team of the School of Foreign Languages at Hubei University was established in 2009. It aims to develop students’ passion to learn interpreting and translation. It is also a platform for young students to acquire interpreting skills, acclimatize to the demands of the professional world, and get a real world experience, which are necessary to succeed in a 21st Century workplace.
Achievements of HUBU Interpreting Team
Our HUBU Interpreting Team has provided language services for a wide variety of foreign affairs activities in Hubei province, such as “‘Walking into Hubei’ Art Exchange Exhibition of UN Officials’ Painting, Calligraphy Works”, “Investment and Trade Fair in Central China”, “China-EU Enterprise Forum” and “Integration: The First International Art Exhibition for People with Disabilities” , etc. Team members of our Team won Second Prize in the 5th Cross-Straits Interpreting Contest — the Mainland Division and again won First Place in the 5th Cross-Strait Interpreting Contest — the Central China Division.
Our Interpreting Team provides interpretation services for the China-EU Enterprise Forum.
Miss Chang Yan (the team coach), led her team to serve as consecutive interpreters forcommunication and negotiation at US - Central China Business Summit.
Miss Chang Yan served as accompanying interpreter for Ren Zhenhe, the vice governor of Hubei Province at Global Capacity Cooperation and Sustainable Development (Wuhan) Seminar.
Team members, Zeng Jia and Wang Fan,served as liaison-escort interpreters and conference interpreters at Global Capacity Cooperation and Sustainable Development (Wuhan) Seminar.
Team leaders, Yin Heng and Chang Yan, served as interpreters for the Fifth G20 Sherpa Meeting (2016)
Teachers from the School of Foreign Languages provides the English-Chinese / Japanese-Chinese/ Korean-Chinese simultaneous interpretation for the “Integration: The First International Art Exhibition for People with Disabilities”.
